{"id":658,"date":"2016-12-03T23:50:51","date_gmt":"2016-12-04T04:50:51","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.brightwood.org\/?p=658"},"modified":"2016-12-04T00:54:00","modified_gmt":"2016-12-04T05:54:00","slug":"bowerman-open-house","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.brightwood.org\/index.php\/bowerman-open-house\/","title":{"rendered":"Bowerman Open House"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.brightwood.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/12\/bowermanopenhouse-1.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-455 alignleft\" src=\"http:\/\/www.brightwood.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/12\/bowermanopenhouse-1-300x201.jpg\" alt=\"bowermanopenhouse-1\" height=\"201\" width=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.brightwood.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/12\/bowermanopenhouse-1-300x201.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.brightwood.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/12\/bowermanopenhouse-1.jpg 640w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a>On September 24, 2016 Terry and Lynn Bowerman held a delightful open house.&nbsp; They decided it was time to do that since they had finally finished their log home.&nbsp; They had spent a long time building the house themselves.&nbsp; The Bowermans warmly welcomed a number of us current and former Brightwoodians who came to help celebrate the completion of this excellent new home away from home.&nbsp; The food and company were very enjoyable.&nbsp; We also had the opportunity to sample some of the Bowerman&#8217;s own delicious honey.&nbsp; We learned that Terry keeps bees at their main home in Tennessee.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.brightwood.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/12\/bowermanhouse-1.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-454 alignleft\" src=\"http:\/\/www.brightwood.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/12\/bowermanhouse-1-300x201.jpg\" alt=\"bowermanhouse-1\" height=\"201\" width=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.brightwood.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/12\/bowermanhouse-1-300x201.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.brightwood.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/12\/bowermanhouse-1.jpg 640w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The new home turned out very well indeed.&nbsp; It fits beautifully in the surrounding forest.&nbsp; The log exterior, wood interior and appropriate lighting give a cozy and friendly feeling.&nbsp; There is a generous wrap-around porch so people can easily enjoy the outdoors.&nbsp; There are three levels: a basement with storage and play areas, the main floor and a loft.&nbsp; There are several bedrooms and baths.
